I really like these lamps! They’re different and whimsical and add character to our living room. I like the fact that you can just turn on the base, the lightbulb under the lamp, or both. It also has an option to charge a device. The on-off switches on the base. But if you want both lights on, you have to twist near the lightbulb. The reason for four stars is, the lamps I really light and can easily be knocked over and top easily when you’re trying to turn them on and off at the base but other than that, they are a keeper. These lamps look as if they would cost twice as much as Wayfair's price. They are really elegant and add a real feel of classy detail to what is truly a kind of bland room. The shades were a bit tricky for me to make ready to mount on a traditional harp device. They used two shaping hoops, one for the bottom of the shade and one for the top. Assembly guides today seem to me to be a bit of poorly translated English. The switch is a rotary type. The shades were easy to assemble, but the metal rings are not covered like they would be in a pre-assembled shade. I'm taking a star off as they are more lightweight lamps than expected, but the price completely makes up for that. I got these for a spare bedroom so they work well for me. They are attractive and very clean looking, throwing some silvery sparks from the crackle finish + silver metal base. So much so that I'll likely spray paint the shades silver to amp it up more as I appreciate a bit of bling. I think a bedroom is perfect for these, though they would work in a home office. At 23" tall they are a bit smaller than most couch-side placements, but they will work on a taller table as I've used. I hit on a good price, closeout plus sales, but it was the look I liked. I love these lamps. They are beautiful! I was worried about them arriving broken. They were packed very well. My only complaint is the shade doesn’t appear white once the light is on. I like that you can see the detail in the shade once the light is on but I don’t like that it looks so warm. Personally that bugs me because it’s the same color as my wall.
