These are really nice sconces! They look high end, but are rechargeable so no hardwiring required! I did deduct a star because the shades arrived damaged. This pair of sconces are modern and look great in my new living room. the base is round and they are gold. I guess you would call them bulbs need to be securely installed or they won't light up. They were easy to put p with two screws each. There is a switch on the side for you to turn them off and one. They are very solid. I would suggest Charging them before you put them up and the full charge last a long time.
