Out of the box, I’m really excited about this wall sconce. The matte black finish looks beautiful against the brushed gold accents, and the modern transitional style will work perfectly in my boys’ room as a reading light. I love that the swing arm adjusts easily so they can rotate it while reading. The only thing I wish is that the lamp head swiveled, so it could be angled instead of just providing downlighting—but that wasn’t advertised, and I didn’t consider it when ordering, so no need to deduct stars for that. I can’t speak to the hardwiring just yet, since we plan to mount it and use a smart bulb until we finish trimming out their room. At that point, we’ll hardwire it.
