It's a VERY pretty fan. The blades are a very light gray wash look - high end. I got the Nickel finish motor. On/off via light switch and then the remote controls everything. Most fans I run at speed 1 for sleeping and that creates some air movement. But this fan doesn't push a lot of air, so i have to use speed 2 or 3 to get the same effect. This is in a guest room, which is rarely used, so that's fine for my needs. But if you need a fan that REALLY creates a breeze in a room, this is NOT the one. (Minus a star for that).. Tamara954. So far I love these fans. Ordered them together (2) so they would match rooms that are next to each other. The light is bright enough for large rooms, but can be dimmed, It has 6 speeds which is more than my last fans (only had 3), sturdy, so much lighter than my old ones and easy to put together (per hubby). The real wood blades are nice and very light weight. The wind speed works well for our living room and kitchen. Remote is easy to use and I like that there is a timer on the fan also of 1, 4 and 8 hours. There are 3 light settings so you can choose soft, day, and very bright (the bluish type) to fit your room needs. We like the soft one for the living room and the medium one for the kitchen. We bought 3 fans, 3 different sizes. We have installed 1 of them at this point. The fan has a simple, clean style. It works well, cools the room on low speed. We like the adjustable light. We like the look, it is a nice improvement over the outdated fan We had. I gave it 4 stars because the remote and our switch are not compatible. We will leave the switch on and only use the remote.. Installed an all I can say is wow! I love it. The blades on this are beautiful and very light weight. The instructions seen very straight forward and easy for one person to work install.
