This is my second purchase for this specific medallion- it is small but works in compact spaces like closets and entryways. We just built a new home. I wanted a little something to add a decorative punch on the ceiling. This is gorgeous. Exactly what I was picturing. Great quality and it paints perfectly. I base painted a solid grey and let dry a day. The next day, working in sections, I painted solid white covering the grey paint and then immediately wiped the white paint off and it leaves the white in the crevices giving it that shabby chic look.. I used this in a remodel of an 1880's Victorian in San Francisco. The medallion was lightweight, detailed and usable. With some of the medallions it was necessary to flatten the back to get it to mount flat on the ceiling, and the center hole sometimes is not sized for mounting a fixture with a standard ceiling box (I don't remember if this medallion had these issues or not). The light weight and robustness of the material is far better than having to deal with plaster.. Vincent P. Fri Nov 22 2019
