Handcrafted using the same techniques that were developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the early 1900s. Illuminate your home decor in elegance with this Tiffany-style table lamp.
From 5 feet away, these lamps look GREAT. Color of the actual lamp has a bit more variation than you see in the Wayfair photo (more shades of yellow and red. There is no obviouseasy way to replace the lamp in the base without removing the fabric on the bottom of the lamp and presumably, re-glue-ing after you replace the lamp in the base. This lamp comes with the lamp in the base already installed. The big lamps that go in the sockets are not included. The 2 empty sockets each have their own pull chains so you can have one on or both lamps on as needed. 60 watts maximum for incandescent lamps but you can use two 100 watt-equivalent compact fluorescent lamps (23 watts each) to get considerably more light out of the lamp. But even with 2 bg fluorescents in the lamp, it doesn't throw out a ton of light because the top shade is solid. Craftsmanship on the lamp is good but not fabulous. For example, the shade is not attached to the lamp in any way. There are 4 arms that support the middle of each side of the shade, but nothing holds the shade in place... no screw or finial. If the shade is bumped from the bottom, it could be dislodged and potentially knocked off the lamp. That's more of an issue for families with younger kids or larger dogs or frisky cats unless the lamp is well out of reach of all of them. So the lamp has 3 bulbs total... one inside the base that is difficult to get to. It's a 25 watt bulb that there primarily for decorative purposes and it does look VERY cool when it is turned on. A rotary switch in the power cord turns the lamp on and off. The lamp in the base is on all the time when the rotary switch in the power cord is on. The 2 larger lamps each have a pull chain (not placed very well, each one dangles down and lays against a side of the lamp base. Those 2 larger lamps can be turned on and off with their respective pull chain so the lamp can be used with only the light in the base illuminated (kind of a cool night light if you want to use it for that purpose)... that would happen if you use the pull chains to turn both large lamps off. You can also have one or both larger lamps under the shade on at the same time. If you have all 3 lamps illuminated, when you turn the rotary switch in the power cord off, all 3 lamps go off at the same time. We got two of these and use them on contemporary (dark wood) night stands on each side of our bed and they look fantastic from 5 feet (or farther away). When you look at the lamp more closely, it' obvious this isn't really a highly crafted product, nor do things fit with great precision. But if it was that kind of lamp, it would undoubtedly cost 5 or 10 times Wayfair's price. So...for the price it is a good value, just don't expect miracles. It was shipped in it's original box which was made of the Asian cardboard you've undoubtedly seen that's about 12 as strong as American cardboard. The boxes both arrived a little beaten up. There is a TON of flimsy Asian Styrofoam inside... it EASILY falls apart and tiny pieces flake off making a mess. But both lamps arrived in good condition in spite of the flimsy cardboard and Styrofoam. The biggest problem we've had with the lamps was cleaning up all the little bits of Styrofoam and getting rid of the largish boxes and the Styrofoam itself (Styrofoam isn't recyclable here and the foam from 1 lamp would nearly fill our smallish garbage can..
