This thing is amazing! I would prefer the option to have a softer yellow tone light in addition to the bright white, but it fits my needs. Needed a light out near the chicken coop/run but too far from nearest electrical feed to run anything permanent. This fits the bill. I have it on the mode where the light stays on low but comes on bright when approached or when it signals motion from a predator. Lights up the area very well for night time feeding/cleaning activities. I will remove the water from base and replace with sand before winter. Only thing I would change would be an option for an off/motion on mode rather than just low light/bright motion. Love that we can put it anywhere we need more light.. Robert. Leroy, OH. This is a much needed light for anyone who has a back yard that is dark at night. I am so glad I got this. I have ordered a pole so I can place it in the middle of my back yard. I tested the lighting and it is very bright and can be reduced to a not so bright lighting. It has a remote control if you need to change the brightness or cut it off. This lantern is attractive and light weight but it is pretty sturdy. It can easily be hard wired but I am using it as strictly solar. I use it as shown but it is easily moved. I was not sure I would like this globe outdoor lantern top, but I am very happy with it. It is modern looking- much different from the traditional one we had.
