Quietly luxurious and endlessly photogenic, this two-light wall sconce is built around a single tall slab of natural alabaster marble, cut into a soft pill silhouette and held between slim brass-tone bars so the stone appears to float just off the wall. Light travels up through the alabaster and out the open top, so the Belmont 1 Light Wall Sconce glows from the stone itself and pushes a soft wash onto the ceiling. Underneath, a slim iron stem carries a small disc, and the canister rests open-side up on it, a straight vertical line that stays out of the way flanking a bathroom mirror or a headboard. Set low on a dimmer after dark, it gives a vanity or a bedside wall something gentler than an overhead fixture ever manages.

Spanish alabaster garnered a reputation as a luxurious material for the duress in its extraction and its use in aristocratic and ecclesiastical spaces. Here we use the wonderfully light-diffusive material to conceal a powerful LED board. Paired with aged brass, it makes an exquisite bath and vanity sconce.

Great Quality. Jennifer. Streetsboro, OH. Tue Nov 27 2018

Spanish alabaster from the quarry of Aragon has long been considered an ideal substance for sculpture. Used in religious statuary and by prosperous families of Renaissance Spain, the material is richly veined and pleasantly porous. Due to the amount of light it lets through, it was often used for windows. We took note. In our Skylar family, we mount a slab of Spanish alabaster with thin metal clasps over an LED lamp. As the light pours through it, it creates a beautiful effect.
Amazing scones lights. Have them all over my new house and they always look good (on or off).. Des. Brooklyn, NY. Mon Aug 18 2025

Argon’s ridged candlecup contrasts its smooth alabaster diffuser, just as its rectangular backplate does its cylindrical shape. The beautiful stone makes for unique addition to any space, contributing sophistication and visual character.
Individual fins of Spanish alabaster flow in and out of a metal backplate giving this stunning sconce a wavelike feel. An opal matte glass tube at the center holds an led bulb that fills the white alabaster diffuser with a soft, soothing light.

This fixture is gorgeous in person and worth the price. It was packaged like Fort Knox and for good reason. The alabaster is in multiple, thin vertical pieces that are wrapped separately from the backplate. Each piece fits into a slot on the backplate and have to be handled with care as you put it together. There is a glass cover that goes between the bulbs and the alabaster so you get diffused light with no bulb glaring through the alabaster pieces. The brass is high quality. Wearing cloth gloves during handling, as with all solid brass, will prevent finger prints on the brass. Will try to add photos later. This will be an heirloom piece.. Rebecca. Camp Hill, PA. Tue Jun 09 2026

A large rectangular piece of alabaster is backlit by an LED, producing a warm glow that accentuates the long, graceful seam down the front and highlights the stone's delicate veining. The simple, almost completely hidden Aged Brass metalwork allows the true beauty of the alabaster to shine. Remsen is a straightforward sconce that blends well with modern interiors.
