I ordered these lamps to replace the ones that were on our bedside tables and I love them! What I liked about these lamps was that they are smaller in bulk and would give us more space back for all the things we need to plug in at night. I also liked that they operate by touch to turn on/off. It's so simple now. The shade is white, so when the light is on, it brightens the room more. The lamps came with light bulbs saving an extra order or a trip to the store to buy them. That was a plus to me. At first I was concerned that the base was small and the lamp might tip over because it could be top heavy, but this isn't the case at all. I like the size of the lamp. It has a smaller footprint and doesn’t take up a lot of room on the end table. I especially like the on/off touch switch at the base of the lamp. The USB port at the base of the lamp is a convenient feature as well. What I don’t like about it, and the reason I gave it a 4, is the lampshade. The shade seems to mute the light coming from the bulb. The light has a yellowish dull glow not very conducive for reading. I chose this set of 2 brass lamps for a new room design project I've been working on. They arrived to my residence undamaged and packed very well. The small product box had me wondering how in the world there's 2 lamps in there, possibly thinking there was a shipping mistake, but there wasn't! LOL! The lamp shades and their frames are packed for efficient shipping. You can see the lamp shade laid flat before it is clipped on the shade frame. The shade is packed wrapped around the lamps so there's no creases or dents. Genius! The 3 levels of lighting is also convenient so you can get the glow you want. These were pretty easy to put together. There was a cord at the top that was hard to get out of the way so you could screw in one of the parts to the base.
