Lights were easy to install, installed them on fence rather than pole to light side yard. Had them installed in early afternoon and they were charged enough to turn on that evening (don't know how long they stayed charged but at least a few hours). I got this solar light because I want to have more lighting in my backyard at night due to wild animals becoming more common in my neighborhood. One important feature I was looking for was motion sensing so that hopefully I could tell if a critter was in the backyard before I let my dogs out at night when its dark. The motion sensor on this light seems to be somewhat irregular in what triggers it, and it looks like you have to be quite close to trigger it at all. It didnt seem to be regularly triggered by my dogs running past either. I mounted it on an 8ft pole I already had and got an umbrella stand base that I could modify from wayfair. I just put it up yesterday and will play with location and orientation. But so far, the jury is still out. These solar lights are pretty cool! Not able to install outside yet so I tried them on the bathroom floor. I have to say that on the floor it is a much smaller imprint than on a wall. So they definitely will have a much greater impact installing them on the side of a fence/wall than using on steps. Easy to install with one screw and easy on/off switch on bottom side of the solar top. Really will add a nice special effect to your fence or any outdoor building that gets plenty of sun.. Robert. So h a cute light. Gives off a good amount of light too. List a star for the anchors and screws it came with. Anchors way too flimsy. And screw head too small to really be secure.
