This fan works very well for our space. It functions as described with the remote provided (no AAA batteries included!) The light is adequate in brightness and the overall appearance of the fan is modern and the three blade adds a minimalistic element. It does not push tons of air down, so if your installation allows for use of the long extension so it sits lower, then you may want to do that; wish we had done. We are experienced amateur fan installers (probably 20 over the years) and we installed 2 others just last month, but this one was a bit tricky (totally do-able for those who have experience, but may be frustrating for others.) Notice in the third photo that the holes do not line up and therefore some manual adjustments had to be made. It was also a bit confusing the way (photo 4) the housing is all one piece, but the instructions (step 11) illustrate them separately. It was a true challenge to get this installed with the rubber fully flush on the surface. We had to buy longer screws that those provided, which would not catch, let alone hold. Once installed, the fan is really attractive and works as advertised. It is fully plastic, but that makes sense for outdoors, especially here in H.O.T. Texas. We are considering purchasing another one for the other side because even though we received the product through a promotion, we believe that at the current price, it holds sufficient value. This fandolier is a great choice to replace the full size ceiling fan that I had up before. The bedroom is small, so the size is great. I love the color of the wood, and the fact that it has wood look blades. My grandson had it installed in under half an hour. I did get bulbs for it, but I dont care for the look, and the blades actually hit the round shaped bulbs. So I will need to find different shaped bulbs that are not too bright, because I dont really like it too bright in the bedroom. I am so happy with this purchase. It looks perfect in this room..
