The base of the first light I ordered was damaged. The concrete under the chrome which is the weight of the base started breaking off and there was a bunch of grey sand in the plastic packaging. Wayfair was on it though. They sent out another and accept for a few small scratches on the base, a slight lean, and some resistance when turning the switch, the lamp looks great! It’s a very well built quality lamp. Great if you need something very narrow and tall. However, it doesn’t produce a lot of light do the fact it’s a single bulb in a fairly very narrow glass bowl. The lamp serves the purpose well for which it was purchased. It really brightens a dark room. There should be a note to install the lampshade upside down. Typically, you would put the lampshade on with the inner cross-pieces on the upper side of the shade. If you do that on this one, the light bulb sticks out above the shade.
