I ordered the pole with this lantern and I love it. It does not come with a bulb. I suggest using an aquarium type long skinny bulb. It looks great. Again make sure your pole has the mounting kit as I had to pay my electrician to come back after I had to order the kit. This thing is amazing! I would prefer the option to have a softer yellow tone light in addition to the bright white, but it fits my needs. Needed a light out near the chicken coop/run but too far from nearest electrical feed to run anything permanent. This fits the bill. I have it on the mode where the light stays on low but comes on bright when approached or when it signals motion from a predator. Lights up the area very well for night time feeding/cleaning activities. I will remove the water from base and replace with sand before winter. Only thing I would change would be an option for an off/motion on mode rather than just low light/bright motion. Love that we can put it anywhere we need more light.. Robert. Leroy, OH. I love the lights and they look great! Pictures of old and new. Note: I painted the bulb collar to coordinate with my other exterior lights. Just a couple of small issues: a) the lights came with 3 screws to attach to a post but I need to attach to a pier mount base (Castellanos, which I purchased at the same time) so they don't work. I am in the process of trying to find a way to secure them, and b) there is about 1/4" gap between the glass and the base so water gets in. There are holes in the bottom of the base but it's a flat surface so I think water will stand - trying to find someway to seal it (other than using silicon).. Jana. Salt Lake City, UT.
