I ordered the pole with this lantern and I love it. It does not come with a bulb. I suggest using an aquarium type long skinny bulb. It looks great. Again make sure your pole has the mounting kit as I had to pay my electrician to come back after I had to order the kit. This thing is amazing! I would prefer the option to have a softer yellow tone light in addition to the bright white, but it fits my needs. Needed a light out near the chicken coop/run but too far from nearest electrical feed to run anything permanent. This fits the bill. I have it on the mode where the light stays on low but comes on bright when approached or when it signals motion from a predator. Lights up the area very well for night time feeding/cleaning activities. I will remove the water from base and replace with sand before winter. I love the lights and they look great! Pictures of old and new. Note: I painted the bulb collar to coordinate with my other exterior lights. Just a couple of small issues: a) the lights came with 3 screws to attach to a post but I need to attach to a pier mount base (Castellanos, which I purchased at the same time) so they don't work. I am in the process of trying to find a way to secure them, and b) there is about 1/4" gap between the glass and the base so water gets in. Bought this lamp post to match my garage lights. Overall it looks good. My only complaint is that the glass is FROSTED not clear. It looks clear on the website but it’s not, it’s frosted.
