I like the size of the lamp. It has a smaller footprint and doesn’t take up a lot of room on the end table. I especially like the on/off touch switch at the base of the lamp. The USB port at the base of the lamp is a convenient feature as well. What I don’t like about it, and the reason I gave it a 4, is the lampshade. The shade seems to mute the light coming from the bulb. The light has a yellowish dull glow not very conducive for reading. I'm taking a star off as they are more lightweight lamps than expected, but the price completely makes up for that. I got these for a spare bedroom so they work well for me. They are attractive and very clean looking, throwing some silvery sparks from the crackle finish + silver metal base. So much so that I'll likely spray paint the shades silver to amp it up more as I appreciate a bit of bling. I think a bedroom is perfect for these, though they would work in a home office. At 23" tall they are a bit smaller than most couch-side placements, but they will work on a taller table as I've used. I hit on a good price, closeout plus sales, but it was the look I liked. I absolutely love these lamps! To be honest, I spent way too much time worrying about buying new lamps but I wanted something to replace a bedside nightlight. My previous light I had used for years and could easily be dimmed so I could read when my husband was asleep and not bother him. We turn on both the bottom light part and the top lamps almost every evening simply because it makes our bedroom look so cozy and inviting.
