Somebody was really thinking when they sold these split into. After the struggle we had putting up our ceiling fan we noticed that there was some drywall damage from the previous fan. We were thinking we have take the whole thing down to fix the drywall but hey, look at this guy. We just installed it around the fan with some construction glue and a couple of pin nails and voila. I added this medallion to my ho-hum dining room and it makes a great design statement. I was planning to paint it but the matte white finish happened to match our ceiling perfectly so my husband just added a littel caulk to give it a flush appearance and it looks fantastic. We bought a new home which unfortunately came with big garish medallions. Since upon removal the stippled ceiling would be hard to fix we decided to cover the area with a visually pleasant medallion. Easy to paint (comes primed), easy to install. This was a little smaller than I anticipated (assumed it would be the same size as a similar medallion from the same brand, silly me) but it is a subdued, elegant touch to upgrade a fixture I still want to replace! Absolutely perfect... we replaced 2 small can lights with pendants. The pendants needed to be spaced differently and this added a finished look and did not require us to have to make a ceiling repair and paint the entire ceiling. Nice design but it was cut in half very poorly. Looks like a kid used scissors on it..they should offer this whole also as it would save them money on cutting it in half, and the consumer wouldn't have to fill it in so much at installation. Gorgeous contemporary medallion over dining room table. Light box was not centered over table. I did not want to swag the ceiling fixture. This covered the opening in the ceiling and allowed me to hang light fixture over Center of the table. No need for an expensive soffit or other construction to solve the problem.. Monte C.
