We have a "Florida basement" storage room in our modern organic coastal home that needed a light. This was perfect, nice (not cheap) quality and a little fun. When lit, the warm brown weave creates a neat little pattern across the ceiling. As some have mentioned, you will need to be directly under the fan to feel it but it does move air surprisingly well. This is perfect for us because I sometimes hang wet clothes on a drying rack or do some ironing in the center of the room. This light fixture/ fan combination is beautiful and functional. It clears the air very quickly when reversed, but without the noise of our older fan. Be careful to choose bulbs with enough lumens to light up the area (we had to change from our original bulbs at 250 lumens to some that look the same, but give approx. 800 lumens).
