After three tries to get the gun metal lamp, I ended up with no lamp.

Once I got the lamp assembled, it's beautiful. The reason for the 3 stars is the assembly part. You have to assemble the post to the base. This is where the issues came in. The first issue was that two sides of the bottom of the post were flared in, causing it to not fit over the part of the base it is supposed to fit over. I had to use a larger screw driver to force the two sides out (straighten them) so they would fit over the base. The second issue was that once I got the post to fit over the base, the wing nut that attaches the two extended beyond the bottom of the base, causing the lamp to wobble. I had to adjust the threaded rod in the base upwards so the wing nut would end up above the bottom of the base. Most people probably would have returned the lamp because it couldn't be assembled. I also ordered a set of two table lamps that match this floor lamp, and they were missing the saddles that the shade attaches to. Still waiting for the parts. This manufacturer obviously has some quality control issues.
