Frey 54.5 " Arched Floor Lamp

Ian Thornton has been exploring how to bring task lights high style, and he has certainly succeeded with the Frey floor lamp, which is made of steel in a satin black finish with brushed brown accents. The way the off-white shantung shade is fitted to the curving arm is a refined aspect of the design, as it lends the profile a subtle Asian flair. The stacked base has an engineered precision, but it also creates a wonderful sense of balance as it extends to the point where the bands holding the shade taper down.
