The Coolie Empire Basic Lamp Shade by Royal Designs, Inc. brings bold geometry and timeless form to your lighting setup. Inspired by the traditional silhouette of conical Asian hats, this shade features a dramatically wide base and narrow top—ideal for creating visual balance on larger or rounder lamp bases. Part of our Timeless™ Basic Shade Collection, the Coolie Empire shade is available in a variety of fabrics and colors to suit both contemporary and transitional spaces. Whether you’re refreshing a vintage lamp or styling a modern room, this shade makes a sophisticated statement while offering practical, diffused lighting. Since 1993, Royal Designs has offered handcrafted shades that reflect quality, elegance, and value across a wide range of distinctive silhouettes. Measurements are listed as (Top Diameter x Bottom Diameter x Slant Height). Height is measured by slant height from top to bottom of the lampshade’s front face. Please measure your existing shade—a replacement harp may be needed for a proper fit or additional adjustment if changing the height of the shade.
