Transforming hard butter into spreadable delight, DOWAN Porcelain Butter Crock is the perfect French butter dish. With a water line feature, it ensures freshness and convenience. A great housewarming gift for butter lovers, this white butter keeper is a must-have in any kitchen.

We have had and used this butter dish for over 3 months now and its great. My biggest complaint is just that its kinda small so it does not hold a lot of butter, but it also then fits better into my small fridge.. Cassie. Chicago, IL. Tue Sep 08 2026

The Café Matte Collection brings understated color and contemporary style to the traditional French butter crock. Each stoneware crock features a smooth matte glaze with the word “butter” in raised lettering on one side and the French word “beurre” on the opposite side. Pack softened butter into the bell-shaped lid and add approximately 1/3 cup of cold water to the base to create a protective water seal. The crock holds one stick of butter (1/2 cup or 125 grams) and keeps it soft and spreadable without refrigeration when used as directed.

From the Berry & Thread collection - Butter never looked better than when ensconced within this charming dish; scalloped handles make passing it around the table a breeze, and a lid accented with a garland of thread and berries lends just the right touch of refinement.

Keeping butter at room temperature is the difference between spreading and tearing, and this dish makes that easy to do neatly. Glass covers what is underneath while keeping it in view. A wooden base gives it enough length to work with comfortably, and enough looks to stay out on the table.

Wanted a new butter dish that was large enough for at least two sticks (hubby and I like different brands), clear (because I forget there’s butter in them if I can’t see it) and with a handle because most butter dishes have smooth glass tops that are easy to drop. This one seemed to fit the bill but was very expensive and there weren’t any reviews so I held off for a while, but finally caught a sale and happened to have a gift card so figured I’d give it a shot. It is definitely the biggest butter dish I’ve ever seen and would easily hold four sticks, or maybe three of the European shaped blocks. And being so large is a bit heavy, but that’s what the handle is for. I would give this five stars except for the poor workmanship rate it five stars on said handle. I think that an item at this price range should have better quality control. Dimensions are 12 1/2” wide, 5 3/8” deep and 6 3/4” tall. Interior area is 10 1/2” x 3 1/4” x 3 1/2”.. Lorane.
