I have a set of Laguiole steak knives and these butter knives are the same excellent quality. Full tang (the metal runs all the way through from the tip of the blade to the base of the handle.) Beautiful detail in the metal with a small bee and vines engraved on the top. Nice heavy weight to them. Even though this set is made in China (Laguiole is the name of a French town, so the design and name are not trademark protected), the quality is high. Not sure what kind of wood the handles are made of, but I think it might be olive wood. Extremely happy with these butter knives/speaders and plan to purchase more. Would make a great hostess gift.
