These artistic paisley chargers are multi-functional, unique, and colorful! They work beautifully as placemats, a centerpiece on dining table or entry hall table, statement piece in the kitchen, and functional trivet. These are true works of art! Crafted from fine New Zealand wool and azo-free dyes using age-old hand-felt techniques. Handmade in Nepal by a Fair Trade women's cooperative. Size: Each coaster is approx. 13.75 inch in diameter Care: Spot clean as needed. Do not machine wash or dry. The Art of Felting: The first step to creating these beautiful felt pieces begins with gathering some of the world’s finest sheep’s wool from New Zealand. Making felted wool is an ages-old, time-consuming process of bonding fabric with fiber. This is a physical job where the artisan’s scrub, rub, roll and rinse the wool again and again with soapy water. Once the wool is bound into a sheet and the desired thickness is complete, the felt is laid out to dry. From there, the felt wool is cut and re-worked into many complex shapes and designs. The many sheets of wool might merge several colors to create patterns and layers. This takes a well-trained, talented artisan and is a true labor of love. The end results are colorful, one-of-a-kind textiles that are stunning to behold.

Love these. Nice rich colors. I chose the purple set. Absorb condensation so no moisture touches furniture. Was concerned that, being fabric, glasses would not sit well or steady but they stay firm and in place, even my beaten up uneven bottom travel bottle. And really love supporting fair trade artisans. Great buy. Amy. US. Wed May 07 2025

We piece together gently rounded squares of acacia wood to form these handsome table mats. The slight variations in tone from square to square add complexity and visual richness to each mat. We couldn’t achieve these subtle tones by intention. Only the natural interaction between wood and dye can obtain this look. The puzzle-like ensemble bends slightly when lifted from the table but lays beautifully flat when supported. The labor to lovingly assemble so many small parts will be lost to us in a generation. Relish this understated beauty while you can.

Product is as described. Goes well with my decor. Anonymous. Greenfield, IN. Sat May 11 2024

Hexagons tile together on a table the way circles only wish they could, so a stacked set looks like a small architectural decision. Marble stays cool under a cold drink and shrugs off condensation that marks softer surfaces. A set of four covers a coffee table for guests, or a desk for one person with a lot of mugs.
