Taking inspiration from the natural materials of sand, clay, and water. The shapes are soft and inviting with pleasantly rounded edges and a slightly rough surface in some areas and glazed in others. Made from colored clay and a unique mix of quartz, minerals, and oxide. Stoneware is defined as a group of ceramic products and is used to produce plates, dishes, cachepots, and bowls, molded at very high temperatures using special casting techniques. The high temperature during the firing process ensures stoneware is more stable than clay and less translucent than porcelain. The colors, shapes, and appearance of the glaze as well as the overall look depend on the firing temperature and time and may vary slightly from piece to piece - each piece is unique and may show individual structures and shades.

I purchased the large set of rectangular plates - all with different patterns. The first thing I prepared was an individual salad and the dish was just the right size. I think these dishes would make a great presentation for pasta or individual small casseroles. Very unique and sturdy. I think you'll be happy with this purchase.. Julie. Lebanon, TN. As others have mentioned, these are tiny plates, but I read the measurements, so I knew what to expect. I like them. The drawings on them are intricate and old fashioned looking, and I like the simplicity of them just being black on the cream colored plate. I attached wire hoops to their backs to use them as wall decor in some small spaces. They would probably also work nicely for cheese and crackers, or some small snack with a cup of tea! I'd have given them five stars, but the glaze on a couple of them is flawed.. Alayne. Houston, TX. Sun Sep 01 2019
