Soooo...stone isn't realllly absorbent, but unless your drink is sweating profusely, I don't think there's any worry. Mostly I bought these to put in my cupholders of my new car to keep dust and grime out. I'm constantly throwing spare change, lip gloss or balm, and small bits of trash in them until I can clean them out, and usually I wind up cleaning out dust and my own hair, along with the change....gross! Plus, I don't care what you use to clean out the cupholder - even a cloth - it NEVER gets to the space between the walls and bottom of the cupholder. These - first - are very attractive and "cleanly" designed. They are thick but not too heavy, and the fingertip cutout works beautifully. They fit into the cupholders of my Chevy Malibu perfectly, and because they're light in color, I can see if there's something in the cupholder at night, without having to turn on my interior light.
