I selected this item because I was wanting an all metal interior as well as metal shelfs. No plastic touching food. I bought this dehydrator to dry all my fresh grown herbs and fruits from my garden and beef jerky. It is working beautifully. Peppers, many herbs all harvested and now preserved for fresh organic spices. Comes with 8 metal trays and 2 fruit roll up small items solid trays.
