Crafted by the vagaries of the wind, sand dunes can take many forms. Some form linear ridges, others undulate in gentle crescents. In profile, Lou Henry's Dune brings to mind the horizon line of the latter. Each slender handle rests on the table at its pointed tip, lifts gracefully, dips to the neck, and rises again. From above, the handles stretch ridge-like, long and straight, the fork tines thin and elegant, and the knife blade practically invisible due to its cutting-edge vertical stance. When placed on a surface the knife stands up. As you marvel at the perfect balance of each smooth, weighty piece in your hand, you'll relish anew the very act of eating everyday meals.
