We love this set of Mikasa bone china. We bought it to replace another Mikasa set that has a metal lining on every plate. We specifically wanted one that was dishwasher and microwave safe. The artwork on the plates is beautiful and looks much better in person. The plates are lightweight and much lighter than our equivalent size ceramic plates. They didn't stain after we ate curry on them. We hand washed and also washed them in the dishwasher. They came out perfect both times. If I can edit my review later, I'll try to add some photos. Let me first start by saying this dinnerware set is beautiful 5 stars for that. I am not going to take away a star because one bowl was broken. As you can see from the pictures this set was very well packaged. However accidents can still happen during shipping. There was also a gray powder on the plates but of course they will be washed before being used anyway. I won’t let those issues take away from my review of the actual product and I love this set. Absolutely STUNNING and a true light baby pink. These washed beautifully in the dishwasher and they have a nice comfortable weight to them without being heavy. Having arthritis in my wrist makes it tough to hold heavy dishes as I don't usually eat at a table due to it being just myself. But these dishes would certainly make conversation if you had a gathering. The high gloss is a nice added touch. I bought 2 sets so I had 1 set to put away as pink quality dishes are hard to fnd but also because they were at a fabulous price that allowed me to purchase 2 sets. I'm a pink shabby chic lady and decorate with various shades of pink and these just fit into my decor. These match my pink Keurig and my pink spatulas and tongs to a tee and even my kitchen towels. I have pink floral mugs and they match beautifully as well. I could not be happier with this set. They show lighter in photos than they actually are. A true light baby pink...not a blush.
