This canister was far more expensive than what I wanted to spend but this was the only place I could find replacements for two containers I had for easily twenty years. The acrylic canisters in the product posting I knew were exactly what I wanted...needed so badly. I never once had any issues with clumped sugar or unwanted 'things' in my flour. What I had in the old canisters like these never got stale or went bad. But the price of these new ones kept me from purchasing them. I had them saved, I had them in my cart and waited for them to go on sale. No sale ever happened. My old set the plastic on the handles had fallen off, the gaskets had gotten stiff. I washed them, tried gluing the gaskets in place. I loved my acrylic canisters with handles (I definitely wanted handles). I really liked how well my old canisters sealed and had a handle for easy grabbing the flour or sugar out of the pantry. I couldn't imagine large canisters without handles and not being able to see easily see if I needed to buy more flour or sugar. The size I had easily fit an entire bag of unbleached flour or a bag of sugar. I had these acrylic kitchen canisters on my kitchen list for so long because of the price. They never went on any kind of sale. Finally, after watching them for so long, I bought myself a couple of expensive birthday gifts. I could no longer 'MacGyver' the old ones. They had served me well. To my relief and joy the new ones are almost identical to the old ones. Well made, seal tight like my old ones and have handles. These canisters are not cheap but they are so practical. They will never be considered attractive. They are not canisters to keep out on the counter. They are practical, functional and have handles. I have not regretted paying the price for them because they are so perfect. If you want your ingredients secure and fresh these are well worth the price.
