The craftsmen of Utter Pradesh, India have been hand cutting, sorting and dying the water buffalo bone for centuries. Imagine, these handles must be assembled from a series of coin shaped concentric cylinders of bone that each must perfectly match but at a slightly smaller diameter. We dye them in shades of blue gray. No handle pattern precisely matches another but the generally consistent tone lends the handles a matching feel. Spreaders sold to match. Stainless steel working surfaces. Hand washing recommended.

French Home’s Jubilee tableware collection, made in South Africa, takes inspiration from the Zulu word Jabulani, meaning to rejoice or celebrate. Jubilee tableware is a celebration of the rich art of beading and weaving of the Zulu people. This handicraft has evolved into creating an innovative high quality stainless-steel cheese knife, spreader, and fork that are artistically hand decorated with beautifully colored art wire. A large portion of the profits from a Jubilee collection purchase goes back to the community of crafters who produce these products. This community is supported and empowered to become part of the global marketplace by Zulu women who use their cultural art heritage to craft this tableware collection at home, while looking after their families and earning an income. The handles of this stunning cheese knife, spreader, and fork feature fresh, crisp, and cool shades of blue denim, bringing a vibrant energy to any table. Ideal for entertaining, putting together a delicious cheese board, and gift giving.

I love the products from French Home. The exquisite craftsmanship of their vintage design products from 1800s France provides beautiful cutlery and collectible reproductions to discriminating buyers at a fair price. The Jubilee collection features work from Zulu artesians in Africa and focuses on home-based businesses and artists that create this cutlery using wire wrap and vibrant colors. French Home donates profits to this community and supports their efforts. The sleek stainless steel blades of this 3 piece set are perfect for cheese and meats. They are very gift -worthy and can give charcuterie boards a classy touch. Make sure to have a nice gift box handy as the packaging is in bubble wrap only.
