For several years I've used another brand. That other brand needed to be replaced after 15 years, which I thought was a pretty good track record. The upgraded version did not have the power to even make mayo. I have a Blendtec regular blender that I rarely use, but I like. Looking for a new jar for that Blendtec I found that they carry immersion blenders. I bought. It makes mayo in less than a minute. I love the power this thing has! What a beast.. Mariekat.
