I love modern art and this design fits my personality and decor perfectly! The bone china is exquisite and as a home chef, I wanted a solid white, yet elegant backdrop for the food I serve my guests. I don’t like doing dishes, so my new pattern had to be dishwasher safe, as well as be able to be used in the microwave. The product description says that “Orbit” was safe for both. However, when I put a bowl in the microwave to warm some leftovers, the metal around the rim started sparking and almost caught fire. When I immediately took it out, it was so hot that I burned the inside of my thumb! I would have easily given this set 5 stars, had this not happened. Wayfair and one other retailer are the only ones who list this set as “dishwasher and microwave safe.” The manufacturer and all others state that because of the metal trim, it is only “dishwasher and warm oven” safe. I still LOVE this set even though we’ve had to make adjustments when warning food. These dishes are really nice! They are lighter weight, which makes me worry they are a bit fragile. They are not marked as microwave and dishwasher safe, but the insert says they are. Was so excited for these to come in, they came in on time. The cons are they say the material is stone wear, that is not true they are just a type of ceramic they just look like there stone. Another con is that the plates are pretty shallow, especially the small plate. I’m not sure if these are supposed to be like this but I’m just not used to it. The pros are they are super light which is nice because then you don’t have to lift up heavy plates in the cupboard. Also they have a rigged texture to them which is cool. But also concerns me when you cut things on it if the rigged texture will peel off the design, I haven’t tried it yet but I’m hoping that doesn’t happen especially for the price. I do have to day the mugs are nice no complaints besides I think they’re on the smaller side for me.
