Dating back over 140 years, the Wickerwork basket was once the main way of carrying everything from potatoes to turf in Ireland; and indeed these baskets were used in the Belleek factory to carry pottery from one department to another. This timeless design was first introduced in the 1880's when Belleek designer Michael Maguire came up with the idea of using the basketweave pattern along with Shamrocks to create the now world famous Belleek Shamrock pattern

Designed in collaboration with the classically trained and highly accomplished British ceramicist, Daniel Smith. Using clay that is expertly mixed results in an impossibly thin and almost translucent clay body, which works perfectly in conjunction with Canvas Home's transparency glazes. This combination imbues each piece with a delicate subtlety of tone, much like that of a watercolor palette.

Working with both Linda Bloomfield, one of the UK's most respected potters and author of numerous books on glazes, and a well-respected, small-scale ceramics factory in Portugal, we have arrived at a collection that combines the expertise of all collaborators. With a focus on simplicity and clean form; an incredibly subtle color palette is only possible because of Linda's mastery of glazing possibilities, and our Portuguese partner's expertise in applying studio glaze recipes in a factory setting. This 4-piece service for one includes a dinner plate, salad plate, cereal bowl, and mug.

Beloved for its sophisticated simplicity, versatility, and durability, Lastra is our bestselling collection. The Lastra 4-piece place setting is a wonderful starter kit for a Lastra collection. Lastra’s design was inspired by the circular wooden slabs used for centuries to create the outer mold in cheesemaking throughout Italy. When fashioned together with twine, the hoop was left with a slight overlap to help maintain the shape of the cheese mold. Maestro molder Stefano Roselli incorporates the overlapping detail into the entire design, from its foot to its rim. A dark dusting on the edges of each piece suggests the ash that was used to preserve these cheeses and highlights each unique silhouette.

Do not use on the grill. Do not place dense, frozen food items on Stoneware. Do not place hot stoneware directly on a cold surface as it may cause cracks, use trivet or a towel and let it cool down to avoid such cracks. The use of sharp utensils may leave marks.
