This collection is the result of a collaboration between Bordallo Pinheiro and the Brazilian NGO Ecoarts Amazônia in the preservation of an environmental, cultural, social and scientific heritage crucial to mankind's future. Each piece was inspired from the very rich local flora and was only possible thanks to intense knowledge sharing with those who live their daily lives in this vibrant mosaic of ecosystems, traditions, colours, sounds and smells that is the rainforest. Part of the collection's proceeds will go the reforestation of the area of Mato Grosso, by planting indigenous fruit trees in cities, rural areas and indigenous villages of the region where Ecoarts Amazônia operates.

The floral scent best represents the surprisingly unique aesthetic of reactive glaze. The bright blue finishing touches are full of character, making each piece a distinctive creation, and thus giving each set enormous potential for mixing and matching with other pieces and collections.

Cabbage, in its rough and flat form, could be used as a metaphor for Portugal’s rustic ways, which Bordallo had so many times caricatured. This was a clever way to honor it, placing it on the bourgeois’ tables, where another way it had not been invited.
