Oyster lovers rejoice as opening these shellfish delicacies has never been more effortless or elegant. Enjoy oysters Rockefeller, grilled, fried, or classic fresh oysters, and oyster po'boys. French Home's set of Laguiole shucking knives and silicone oyster holders make opening oysters fun, easy, and convenient. The natural wood handle of this Laguiole knife, made from sturdy and timeless oak, is beautiful while being comfortable to hold and easy to use. The accompanying silicone holder allows for a safe and firm grip on the oysters, giving the perfect angle and leverage to pry them open. This twist on the classic Laguiole design features two rivets on the handle with the iconic bee emblem on its bolster symbolizing Napoleon and the French monarchy. Laguiole is a town in France where this style originated in the 1820s.
I love raw oysters and was curious how these might work. I have a regular oyster shucker but it is big, heavy and bulky. This set looked attractive and to be easy for each person to use individually. But I wanted to try one set out myself first. I have not yet purchased oysters to test (not the easiest item to find fresh in Denver CO!) but I am very impressed with how the tools appear to work. You have a silicone gripper and a beautiful, double-edged knife for inserting to pry them apart. The set is quite attractive in appearance and unique, as well. It looks well made (and is beautifully packaged, too!). I like this set so much, I may just purchase more without even trying them out first!. Dyanne. Denver, CO. Sun Jul 28 2024
