These are awesome bowls! Of course they are great for huge noodle dishes, but, we mostly use them for everyday stuff like cereal or a can of soup, which we would normally put into smaller bowls. It looks kind of comical to use such huge bowls for every day purposes, but it is our new favorite thing. It cuts way down on spills, which is a miracle for us, because we are clumsy people, especially when eating on the couch! And the ridges on the outer surface of the bowl are a huge bonus. They make it easy to carry or cuddle the bowl without accidentally tipping it. All of this for a regular-people price, as opposed to one bowl for $40 (insane price of most products is why we've never had big ramen bowls in the past).
