We love this set of Mikasa bone china. We bought it to replace another Mikasa set that has a metal lining on every plate. We specifically wanted one that was dishwasher and microwave safe. The artwork on the plates is beautiful and looks much better in person. The plates are lightweight and much lighter than our equivalent size ceramic plates. They didn't stain after we ate curry on them. We hand washed and also washed them in the dishwasher. They came out perfect both times. If I can edit my review later, I'll try to add some photos. I bought three sets of the Mikasa Samantha Gold 12-Piece Dinnerware Set, and I’m very happy with them. The material feels high quality, and the design is elegant . I use these dishes for formal dinners rather than everyday meals because they add a beautiful, upscale touch to the table. My only suggestions for improvement would be to make the cerealsoup bowls a little smaller and to design the pieces so they stack more efficiently for storage.
