Legend of Asia carves rather than paints this square tea jar, cutting robed figures in low relief across all four flat faces. Once glazed, the white porcelain gathers in every incised line, so the scenes read as soft shadow instead of color and reveal more detail the closer you look. With a fitted square lid, the square jar introduces flat planes to a shelf otherwise full of rounded silhouettes, and its corners are never mathematically true. The carved jar is high fired in a southern Chinese pottery town until dense and waterproof, so it holds up on a covered porch as well as indoors. Use the lidded jar for storage, group it with a painted ginger jar, or let this porcelain jar stand alone in shelf decor, chinoiserie decor and asian decor rooms.

Bamboo stands for resilience in Chinese design, and Legend of Asia works that idea into the clay itself: raised joints ring the body of this round tea jar while a painted bamboo motif climbs the shoulder in cobalt. The result is chinoiserie decor with texture you feel as well as see. The shape follows the traditional vessel once used to keep loose leaf fresh, and a fitted lid still does that job. Each jar is thrown and hand painted by artisans in southern China, so ridge spacing and brushwork vary slightly. High fire porcelain makes the porcelain jar dense, chip resistant and waterproof, indoors or under cover outside. Fourteen inches tall, this blue white lidded jar suits shelf decor, a bar cart, or a kitchen counter as everyday asian decor and a ginger jar accent.

The lucky boy is one of the warmest images in Chinese folk painting, a round-faced child at play who carries a wish for happiness and abundance, and here he circles the body of a small tea jar in cheerful cobalt. Legend of Asia has each piece hand shaped and hand painted in southern China, then high fired until the porcelain jar is dense and water resistant. Compact and rounded, this mini jar suits a kitchen shelf, desk or nightstand and works as accent decor in a trio or as a gap filler between taller pieces. The fitted lid makes it a genuine tea canister for loose leaf, not just a shape. Small differences in the painted figure are normal in handmade asian decor, and the blue white palette lets the lidded jar sit easily beside a ginger jar or any chinoiserie decor.

The Busan White Porcelain Tea Jars Small from Legend of Asia borrows the straight shouldered, domed lid shape of an old apothecary vessel and glazes it in unbroken white porcelain. Compact in scale, this tea jar tucks neatly under upper cabinets and onto open shelving. Each hand crafted body is turned on the wheel from high fire clay in a small southern Chinese town, so the lidded jar shows faint throwing rings and a cover that seats with its own character. Fired dense and non porous, it keeps moisture and odors out, which makes it a genuine storage jar for loose leaves, sugar or cotton rounds. Empty it reads as shelf decor or kitchen decor on a counter or bar, a quiet home accent in the ginger jar tradition and an easy piece of asian decor.

The lotus has stood for purity in Chinese art for centuries, and it winds around this small tea jar in layered cobalt, leaves and buds following the curve of the shoulder. Legend of Asia has the piece hand thrown and hand painted in the southern town known as the Capital of Ceramic, then high fired until the body is dense and water resistant. The mini jar fits a kitchen shelf, bar cart or bookcase, and the snug lid means it functions as a working tea canister rather than a display-only shape. The porcelain jar keeps its blue white glaze crisp through daily handling. Group three as shelf decor, set one beside a taller ginger jar, or fill it with loose leaf as a gift; the lotus motif makes graceful chinoiserie decor and lasting asian decor.

Denim Blue Village Tea Jar.

The kylin is the auspicious beast of Chinese legend, a creature said to appear in times of prosperity and to guard the household that keeps its image. Legend of Asia places that kylin motif on a compact tea jar, painted in fine cobalt through banked clouds and finished with a fitted lid. The mini jar takes almost no counter space, so it layers easily with taller vases on a kitchen shelf, bookshelf or bar cart. Hand thrown and hand painted in southern China, the porcelain jar is high fired for a glassy, water resistant seal, and the blue white tone deepens wherever the brush ran heavier. Fill the lidded jar with loose leaf and it becomes a working tea canister; set it beside a ginger jar and it reads as chinoiserie decor and asian decor.

The doubled character painted around this small jar from Legend of Asia is xi, the sign of double happiness that appears at Chinese weddings and anniversaries as a wish for joy and lasting union. Repeated in crisp cobalt, it turns a modest tea jar into meaningful chinoiserie decor. The form follows the traditional lidded vessel used to keep loose leaf fresh, and it is hand painted freehand, so stroke weight and spacing differ from one jar to the next. High fire porcelain makes the porcelain jar dense, waterproof and chip resistant, indoors or in a covered outdoor spot. Eight inches tall, the blue white lidded jar tucks onto a bookshelf or bar cart, stores tea and small keepsakes, and makes a thoughtful wedding gift for anyone who loves a ginger jar or asian decor.

Blue And White Mini Tea Jar Blue Plum.

Perfect little jar to add a punch of blue and white to any shelf. Love!. Ben. Idalou, TX. Fri Feb 25 2022

Stripped of pattern entirely, the Busan tea jar from Legend of Asia relies on proportion and glaze alone. The body swells to a full round, draws in at a short neck and finishes with a domed lid, and the soft white jar surface gathers light along every curve, which is why the form reads so clearly across a room. Hand shaped and hand glazed in southern China, the porcelain jar is high fired until the body vitrifies, so this ceramic jar tolerates humidity, water and a sheltered porch. Substantial in presence, it stands as a temple jar on a console, hearth or sideboard, and as an accent jar it calms a busy wall of art rather than competing with it. Equally at ease in chinoiserie decor, modern asian decor and quiet neutral home decor, this ginger jar is a lasting choice.

Small painted dots gather into blossoms on the Blue And White Mini Tea Jar Peony Dots Small from Legend of Asia, giving the peony motif a soft, almost embroidered texture. At 8 in H this mini jar slips onto a bookshelf ledge, bath counter or desk where a full size piece would crowd the space. Working at that scale takes a steady wrist: every hand painted dot is placed one at a time onto high fire porcelain, so the blue white pattern differs subtly on each tea jar. Fired until glassy and sealed, it is waterproof and weather resistant, and the fitted cover preserves the silhouette of a traditional ginger jar. Group three at staggered heights as shelf decor, or give one as a small, considered home accent of chinoiserie decor and asian decor.

Had to wait a long to receive it and then returned it. It was poorly made with brown sandy clay material all around the rim and lid. The lid wouldn't close properly either.. Johnna. The Woodlands, TX. Tue Jan 26 2021

Legend of Asia scales a classic narrative jar down to desktop size here, painting an ancient scholar among pines, rocks and drifting cloud across the shoulder of a small covered tea jar. The cobalt line work is applied freehand, and at this size that takes real control, so each mini jar shows its own subtle differences in pressure and spacing. Hand shaped and high fired in southern China, the porcelain jar is finished under a clear glaze that keeps the blue white contrast sharp and the surface simple to wipe clean. At 8 in H including the domed lid, this ginger jar suits a nightstand, bath counter or bookcase as shelf decor where a full size temple jar would crowd the surface. A gift ready introduction to chinoiserie decor, asian decor and collected blue and white home decor.

The jars are lovely. However, the glaze does not go all around and I dont think they are safe to store food. The intended purpose was coffee and tea storage. I do not think the jars should be part of the kitchen canister section.. Carol. Scituate, MA. Sat Sep 25 2021

Legend of Asia takes a straight sided cylinder and lets carving carry the decoration. Curling vines are incised directly into the clay of this tea jar, and once glazed, the white porcelain gathers thicker in each cut line so the pattern appears as shadow rather than color. With a flat fitted lid, the cylinder jar has an architectural stillness that suits a console or dining sideboard. Because every vine is cut by hand before the high firing, no two examples of this carved vase share identical depth or spacing. As a neutral porcelain jar it adds texture without pattern, useful in mantel decor arrangements, chinoiserie decor rooms crowded with cobalt, or spare asian decor interiors. Use the lidded jar for storage or display it beside a painted ginger jar.

Mixing vintage and modern elements, set of 3: Sugar, Tea & Coffee kitchen canisters add a dash of charm to the heart of your home. This canister is sweetly sealed by a wonderful acacia lid with an airtight seal, creating a suitable home for your most precious items. With the capacity to hold, these pieces are perfect for storing coffee beans, teas, spicies or small snacks. Best of all, they’re safe to go in the microwave, oven, and dishwasher as long as you leave the lid out.

These are adorable. They are a little bigger than what I thought.. bonus! The seal on the lids is tight. I originally bought them thinking I would use them for decoration only, but now that I see them I’ve changed my mind.. Rene. US. Wed May 10 2023
