These bowls are very nice quality and good for everyday use. I put them in the dishwasher and they hold up great (no chips or scratches so far). I use them mostly for a side salad or soup. I think they would be a bit small for pasta. In fact the only thing that I was a bit dissapointed with initially was that it was smaller than I expected.
