This set is excellent. The dinnerware is off-white in color and glossy. I used the dishes to entertain during the holiday. I chose the off-white color as they easily matched other dinnerware I have. They are pretty heavy but also sturdy. They are dishwasher and microwave safe, although they did get hotter than usual in the microwave (on high for 30 seconds) so you may want to reduce the time used in microwave. Very nice set of dishes. They look fancy and match my gray and white kitchen decor. I love the colors and the slight gold color compliments them perfectly. I have received several compliments. My son loves eating cereal out of the bowls. The porcelain material seems sturdy and there is a nice feel to the plates. I think they will last quite some time. We are really impressed with the Famiware 18-piece Stoneware Dinnerware Set. The Milkyway Porcelain Series 18 Pieces Dinnerware Set, in Black and White is a really nice set of dishes including six dinner pales, six salad plates and six bowls. All dishes are great sizes, not too large or too small and the white glossy finish on the dishes is a true white with black rim. They are a good weight, substantial, but not too heavy.
