World Menagerie, in association with National Geographic, searches the world to work directly with the finest artisan designers. We designed these for spreading the icing on a cake, butter on bread and even your favourite dips, Peten Wood Artisan Sculptors tell us with obvious pride. They carve the spreaders by hand from sericite wood, a naturally dark-grained wood with interesting patterns and sometimes shows white parts creating a striking contrast. Please note that hot and/or spicy food may dye the natural wood, yet spoons can be filed and finished with oil to return to natural colouring.
