Hand tufted means yarn is punched through a backing by hand with a tufting tool, then secured with a latex backing, which gives a dense, even pile at a lower price than a knotted rug. The pile is about 1/2 inch thick. Sizes in this listing: 5' x 8' and 7'9" x 9'9". Use it to anchor a living room seating area, under a dining table, or beside a bed. Made in India. Care: vacuum regularly without a beater bar, blot spills right away, and use a rug pad. Some shedding is normal in the first weeks.
