Gorgeous custom and authentic live edge English Chestnut floating shelf (or shelves) can also function as a floating bookshelf or live edge walnut mantle. These rustic hardwood live edge wood shelves are custom handcrafted and made-to-order. They all have their own beautiful and unique character, and will always be created from kiln dried black walnut, but no two will look the same. If you order multiple shelves in one order, we will create them from the same slab or same tree so they look similar.

Features
- How it works: you choose your length. Depth will fluctuate 8" - 12" deep and be a thickness of around 1.75". Voids filled with soft black epoxy. Protected with a low VOC, non-toxic tung oil-based sealer, and urethane for a silky smooth matte/satin finish. Please allow up to 6 weeks for completion as these are custom and made to order.
- Brackets included! Backplate brackets support 45 pounds of weight PER STUD they're attached to at 16" on center. You must hit every stud at 16" on center to take full advantage of the weight capacity rating. Back of shelf is routered to allow the backplate to sit in. Holes are drilled 12" from each other. A sheet with helpful installation tips will be provided to you in your package!
- No mass manufacturing here: these shelves are handcrafted in the USA by a small business in Northeastern Ohio.
- Our wood is responsibly sourced from forest management companies. Although once a vibrant tree, feel good knowing you're revitalizing it by giving it purpose as a beautiful piece of art you can appreciate! These are kiln dried (forced heat to remove insects and drop moisture content to a workable level). However, there will be remaining natural bug holes and wormy markings. This emphasizes character and natural uniquness of the wood, but the insects are gone.
- The images are just some examples of ones we've done! What you receive will be similar but also uniquely all its own.
- We are a small business out of Northeastern Ohio, USA. Each shelf is individually handcrafted by us, a husband and wife team who find inspiration through the natural wood we create. We do not mass-manufacture our pieces and work very hard to ensure quality and longevity. Our wood is responsibly sourced from forest management companies. - Please allow up to 6 weeks for completion as these are custom-made. ⏰ We provide an estimated shipping timeframe for custom orders and in stock items and try our best to adhere to them. However, please allow some flexibility as we are working with wood, resins, third-party suppliers, and sometimes extended timeframes are needed. We will submit an order delay through Wayfair if your shelf is not going to make it by the initial date. However, the order delay date will accurately reflect when your shelf/shelves will ship by.
