Ekhum Rectangular Patchwork Wool Table Runner

We piece together gently rounded squares of acacia wood to form these handsome table mats. The slight variations in tone from square to square add complexity and visual richness to each mat. We couldn’t achieve these subtle tones by intention. Only the natural interaction between wood and dye can obtain this look. The puzzle-like ensemble bends slightly when lifted from the table but lays beautifully flat when supported. The labor to lovingly assemble so many small parts will be lost to us in a generation.
