Brooklyn mural artist who has been a professor of drawing at the cooper union school of Art since 2005 – has combined forces with Kalaty Rug to produce a series of area rug collections. In creating these area rug collections, Kalaty utilizes dynamic line-based artwork as the basis for this noteworthy series of artist-designed area rugs that are ideal for today’s modern homes and lifestyles. The vibrant abstract paintings and ink and watercolor works on paper of noted Brooklyn-born and lifelong Brooklyn-based have inspired this stylish new licensed collection of area rugs, named Colorworks, which translates Katie’s distinctive eye for color and composition into modern works of art for today’s floors. Power-loomed long-wearing, easy-to-clean, and easy-to-maintain 100% polypropylene yarns. Colors include blue, rust, yellow, and pink on an ivory background.
