The bed is definitely all hard wood. It’s not the type of hardwood you could sand and refinish in the future. It also arrived without any broken pieces. It’s a pretty bed, but we are giving it a 45 because we wanted something subtle. The bed is kind of big and the headboard is massive. There aren’t a whole lot of screws and bolts to utilize, but everything fits together very tightly and securely. Everything on this bed is solid wood, so it is very heavy. Beautiful Walnut bed frame. It looks really elegant and modern with a artsy touch. I loved it so much I bought a second one for my guest bedroom. The bed is very low but that’s something I was looking for. For the guest room I did add some bed elevation blocks only because I have items stored underneath. Very sturdy, and strong! it did take about an hour to build and it requires two people to hold some of the pieces up. It goes well with contrast deep green furniture or decor. We are pretty happy with the platform bed. Very protected in the box. The instructions were only pics, which was easy to understand. I used a drill to attach the bolts and over tighten them and one started to come through the other side on the headboard. Totally my fault. The bed itself is well made and pretty solid.. Marianne.
