I purchased the Moroccan handmade zellige tiles in the color ‘Oceanside’ from Wayfair for my bathroom floor, and I am thrilled with the result. The beautiful blue hue of the tiles, with plenty of variation, matches the name perfectly—it really does resemble deep blue water on the floor. The tiles arrived well-packaged, with only a few field pieces broken, which wasn’t a major issue. While there were some minor chips on the edges, using a similar color grout and cutting the edges made them blend in nicely, so they’re hardly noticeable. These are 6"x2" Bejmat tiles (150x50x13mm). Bejmat are a particular style of rectangular Glazed Zellige tiles, with slabs cut before firing. These thinner bejmat help reduce the weight for wall applications. Produced by hand in Fez, Morocco, these Moroccan mosaic floor tiles are known the world over. Still made with the local clays, and fired in kilns powered by olive pits, these rectangular floor tiles are authentic Zellige (zellij).

This is really pretty but the hexagons are a lot smaller than I expected and the color is very mixed, whites, beige, cream, not white white as detailed in the product description, but I would be willing to overlook this because the price was well worth the change in my design. I say would because I can't do anything with my order currently due to a huge problem I am still trying to run down which is extremely frustrating. I used the Wayfair tool to calculate what I needed to order based on my square footage, which totals 80 sq. ft. Both the calculation tool as well as the total summary of my order clearly states that 1 Unit contains 10 sheets or 10 sq. ft of tile. Unfortunately, when I received my order, it was only 8 individual sheets not the 8 boxes of 10 sheets/80 sheets as needed, which I have rechecked twice since to make sure I was not missing something. The worst part is that I was charged for 80 sq. ft. or 8 units (1 unit = 10 sheets/80 sheets total). Not sure what I am going to do at this point but this was disappointing, frustrating and costing me more time than I have and no tile to provide contractors who are scheduled to finish my kitchen in two days.. LOVE this tile! I got it in the "Nero" color. it's the perfect old world look, has an English or European style to it that feels timeless. The faux grout lines hold whatever color grout you choose, which makes the whole pattern blend in so well.
