I’ve tried other ways of anchoring outdoor string light and this is by far the best looking. They recommend stringing lighter weight string lights which does help a lot. This balloon spinner is a beautiful addition to my outdoor décor, but there are a few drawbacks worth mentioning. The colors are vibrant during the day, but I’ve noticed that the orange spinner consistently illuminates darker than the purple and green ones (I own five total). I believe this is due to the deeper orange and purple tones. It's important to be aware of this if you order more than one color. One important detail Wayfair should mention is that this is an adjustable wind spinner. The pole comes in three screw‑together sections, allowing you to choose the full height or a shorter setup using only two sections. I wish I had known this earlier — I initially avoided these and bought the hanging balloon spinners instead because I thought the wind spinners came in only one height. I purchased two of these, and unfortunately, the batteries in both did not work. Be prepared to buy rechargeable replacements right away. I learned this the hard way after charging the original battery for eight hours and getting zero illumination that night. Lastly, this orange spinner is actually a replacement for the first one I received, which arrived with several cosmetic issues such as chipped and missing paint. It looked like an open‑box return, even though I paid full price. Wayfair really needs stronger quality control. Updated review: I received a replacement set which arrived very well packaged and in excellent condition and included the instructions which the original did not have. After reading the instructions I realized that the original set was in fact functional, the lights have a very discreet on/off button that I didn’t notice before it’s well hidden. The button is on the bottom where the stake goes in. For the hassle I’m giving it three stars but the lights do work very well and customer service came through like they always do. Absolute disaster with packaging. This is what it looked like as soon as I opened the box. There was nothing inside the big box to keep the lights from moving around. Put the lights outside in the sun for over 6 hours but they did not turn on at all at night. None out of a set of 6.
