The top is a heavy board that is edge and finger joint glued together and finished in veneer. The legs are also fingerjointed boards. It generally looks nice, but the finish is quite sloppy. there are some rough spots where it was not thoroughly sanded too. I purchased this table because it was on sale. I paid $650 for this desk on sale. Very disappointed in the quality. First, it is made of very light wood, pine I would guess. There are blemishes on the top where defects must have filled with putty or sawdust. The corners were damaged in shipping and do not look easily repairable (see photos). It smoothly goes in and out and comfortably holds my keyboard, mouse, and some small office supplies. When the keyboard tray is completely closed, the desk has a very finished and sleek look and the keyboard is completely hidden. I paid Wayfair for assembly and the fee was well worth it.
