They are crafted in small rural seaside villages on the island of Java by craftsmen that have often been making furniture for several generations. We love this rectangular trestle table: It's a modern take on a classic farmer's table. Plus, it comes with two removable leaves that extend it from 76" to 112" - so accommmodates between four and eight people. It's crafted from solid and manufactured wood with a warm walnut finish that highlights the natural grain variation. It features a 2-inch thick rectangular tabletop and a trestle base that looks and feels substantial and sturdy. The antique oak finish highlights the natural grain variations and resists moisture and scratches. It took a couple weeks to get this table. When I first got it , I really liked the design and how well it is made , but I was not totally thrilled with the color. It was a little light and maybe even a pinkish hue. If you get a table and you will not happy with the color you can use chalk-Tequesta dark wax. Put one coat on way about an hour and do a very light buffing.
