It's a nice size and for me held about 3 quilts, one blanket, and a couple of shams if you roll or fold right. Pretty roomy for the size regardless but fairly compact for smaller spaces. Easy to put together. The hinge is nice because it holds the lid open and prevents it from slamming down. Sturdy construction and parts do not feel cheap so for the price this is very good. I recieved my cedar chest and took one look at the box and was afraid to open. But all i saw was a dent on the top of the front. With that i went ahead and put together. No big problems. Just follow directions. It had to have been wrapped for shipment very well to have just sustained only that damage. The whole thing is not made by using 100% solid cedar or price would be much higher. But i wanted to store blankets i crochet and wollen sweaters and things of that. Cedar helps to keep bugs that love wool away. I had a beautiful light blue sweather that wasnt stored in cedar and i regretted because moth got to it and ate hole right in front. So after putting together just rubbed a little original cedarcide inside. I went on and notified wayfair about the picture of torn up box and picture of dent. Was contacted right then. Talk about fast. He asked for email and order number so he could see what the problem was. I didnt want new one just a few parts that were broken in bag and 1 missig. Great person to talk to. I actually love this little cabinet. Its small but works well for my purpose. I actually have it in my craft room and all the different drawers are perfect for the different size items I need. I havent had a problem with any of the drawers sticking or not sliding correctly. I have another test that is like this with the drawers that are wood on wood so I am kind of used to it. I suppose if youre not used to it it could be a little offputting. Mine arrived in perfect condition, no damage whatsoever. For being so small, it does hold a lot. The trunk is a beautiful piece of sturdy solid wood. I purchased it because it has the black metal legs and front handle that complements my current industrial bedroom furniture. Only four stars because it arrived damaged in two places. One at the left hinge attachment to the wood trunk, the other is a split in the wood on the right side of the trunk where the leg attaches. We were able to nail the wooden block into place to attach the metal leg securely and hopefully prevent further splintering. The quality control needs to be in place for both the preparation of the furniture for shipment AND ensuring the shipper HANDLES THE FURNITURE WITH CARE DURING SHIPMENT. Cheap construction, but not at a cheap price. Accent trim wasn't nailed or tacked on completely, really low quality mdf board. The reason I bought this was the dimensions were perfect for a tight area. It will do for storing tablecloths and placemats for my table. Don't think this would stand up to use where you had to open it every day.
